Quebec Cannabis Dispensary
About Quebec Cannabis Dispensary
Quebec Cannabis Dispensary du cannabis (SQDC) is the only legal place to purchase pot in Canada’s French-speaking province. Its online store opened on October 17 this year. It offers a wide range of products including dried and oil marijuana, edibles, vaporizers, and accessories. Adults over 21 may purchase up to 30 grams of pot at a time from the SQDC. They are also permitted to keep up to four plants at home.
SQDC has a lot going for it, though some of its policies are hindering the company’s growth. Its public policy of raising the age to 21, banning the sale of many types of edibles, and barring stores within 250 meters of schools has been a significant hurdle for the retailer. SQDC CEO Marc-André Timperio says that other governments, including those of France and Germany, have visited the company to learn how its system works.

A report earlier this year suggested that SQDC planned up to 150 retail locations by 2023. That would put the company well ahead of the regulated market in British Columbia, which has more than twice as many stores per capita.
But SQDC spokesman Fabrice Giguere tells MJBizDaily that the company is not aiming for that number and points to retail sales figures as evidence that its strategy is working. He says the company prioritizes carefully chosen locations over sheer numbers and adds that online sales make up a small percentage of total revenue at this point.
