In what was an unusually busy weekend for fires this time of year, The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter responded to 10 fires between 8 a.m. Friday, April 9th and 8 a.m. Monday, April 12th.
Lifesavers to be honored by Red Cross
The 15th annual Help Can’t Wait Awards, given by the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter and sponsored by SCA Americas, will honor more than a dozen hometown heroes who used lifesaving skills learned through the Red Cross to help save a life. This event, to be held Friday, March 26th at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., exemplifies the mission of the Red Cross - to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Step Up, Step Out and Walk or Run for Local Disaster Relief
About 1,200 participants are stepping up and stepping out on April 17, 2010 for the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter’s 8th Annual Red Cross Walk and Run to Save Lives, presented by ModSpace. The Walk and Run helps to raise funds for Red Cross House and emergency services for local families who have been left homeless after a fire, flood, and other disaster.
A Red Cross Day-Night Doubleheader
The Phillies aren’t the only team in town that holds Day-Night Doubleheaders. The Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter of the American Red Cross will go to bat for local disaster victims with two major events on March 6. In the morning, the Chapter will equip 500 young people with lifesaving skills at CPR Saturday. In the evening, more than 1,100 people will party at The Red Ball to raise money for Red Cross House.
Red Cross to Light City in Red, Host Signature Events, and Organize More Than 90 Other Activities in Honor of 68th Annual Red Cross Month
In honor of the 68th annual “March is Red Cross Month,” the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross will paint the town red with lights and flags and host more than 90 activities, including our four signature Red Cross Month events: The Red Ball, CPR Saturday, the Help Can’t Wait Awards, and the Red Cross Walk & Run to Save Lives.

At the SEPA Chapter’s annual Red Ball Press Preview Party, held on February 18 at the Chestnut Club at Arcadia Theatre in Philadelphia, PA, CEO Tom Foley formally thanked the Delaware Valley for its overwhelming response in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake. Also, guest speaker Jim Donovan, CBS3 Consumer Reporter, revealed that Top 10 musician Adam Crossley will perform live at the Red Cross’s upcoming Red Ball, to be held Saturday, March 6 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Please Touch Museum at Memorial Hall.
