Corporate Partnerships

The power of two great names: Yours and ours.

Linking your name to the American Red Cross builds equity in a way that can't be acquired through advertising, marketing, public relations, or other conventional channels.

According to the Cone Corporate Citizenship Study (2008), 85% of Americans say they have a more positive image of a product or company when it supports a cause they care about. And 79% of consumers say they are likely to switch brands to an organization associated with a good cause.

When you become an American Red Cross Corporate Partner, your organization's name is aligned with America's most trusted non-profit, and one of the world's most recognized and respected brands. The American Red Cross has received the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance Seal of Approval —and the American Institute of Philanthropy's highest rating for the past three years.

As a Corporate Partner, you'll share in the goodwill generated by the innumerable selfless deeds and good works the Red Cross performs every day in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

And your company will enjoy such special benefits as networking opportunities with SEPA board members and other organizations; sponsorship of specific activities such as prevention days, National Preparedness Month, Red Cross Month, and others; and customized health and safety training, including on-site first aid and CPR classes, for your employees.

Your partnership in action:

Being there when disaster strikes

From fires in Philadelphia to hurricanes in New Orleans, the Red Cross has always been there. You can help assure that we always will be.

Your support helps us provide 24-hour emergency response, immediate relief, and direct financial assistance at no cost to disaster victims.

Keeping our region prepared

We can't prevent the unexpected, but we can help people prepare for it by teaching families, organizations, and corporations how to prepare for and respond to a disaster.

As a corporate partner, you can help our educational programs and information initiatives reach more people in more schools, workplaces, and communities throughout the region.

Supporting soldiers and their families

Military life comes with its own set of challenges. Our chapter offers a wide range of services to active duty, National Guard, and Reserve personnel and members of their families including connecting military personnel and loved ones in the event of a serious injury or illness, death of a family member, birth of a child, and other family emergencies and life events. When the situation demands the presence of a service member, we can also provide access to financial assistance for travel expenses.

As a corporate partner in Red Cross Services to the Armed Forces, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped us get a vital message to a loved one overseas, delivered assistance to a military family, provided counseling to soldiers and their families, and supported Red Cross volunteers working on front lines all around the world.

Inspiring a new generation of leaders

Few partnership options represent a more rewarding investment in the future than Youth Services—where your Red Cross teaches the children of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. Through our Community Education Youth Programs, young people learn how to channel their skills, energy, and desire to make their communities better places to live.

Saving hundreds of lives every year

All across the Philadelphia area and beyond, countless individuals are alive today because someone learned how to perform CPR, rescue a drowning victim, or prepare for an emergency in a Red Cross training class. Constantly looking for new ways to help people learn preparedness at home and in the workplace, we have also developed such innovative programs as babysitter's training, bloodborne pathogens training, and teaching people how to use automated external defibrillators to save victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Health and Safety training is one of the most essential jobs we do: And, as a corporate partner, you can be a part of it.

Partners in Disaster Response and Relief

Disaster Services are some of the most vital and visible responsibilities the Red Cross undertakes. From fires in Philadelphia to hurricanes in New Orleans, the Red Cross is always there. Your support helps us provide 24-hour emergency response, immediate relief, and invaluable recovery assistance to disaster victims.

Last year alone, SEPA responded to 858 disasters in the five-county Philadelphia area. Our volunteers provided on-site food, shelter, direct financial support, and emotional support to individuals and families devastated by their losses. And at our pioneering Red Cross House, nearly 1, 200 adults and children found refuge, meals, and social services to help them reclaim their lives.

Corporate Partnership Opportunities include:

Partners in Community Education

We can’t prevent the unexpected, but we can help people prepare for it. SEPA teaches families, organizations, and corporations how to prepare for and respond to disasters. In a typical year, these efforts will reach well nearly one million people through presentations in schools, workplaces, and community venues, and through the distribution of educational literature.

In addition to these direct efforts, SEPA reaches even more people in our region through our work with such initiatives as Ready Philadelphia and VOAD (Voluntary Associations Active in Disaster), a national collaboration of diverse organizations and citizens trained to meet community needs in the wake of a large-scale disaster. In collaboration with VOAD, we have helped enlist more than 3,000 people as VOAD volunteers throughout the five-county region, and trained over 9,000 people in critical disaster preparedness and response skills.

Corporate Partnership Opportunities include:

  • Sponsor a VOAD "Ready When the Time Comes" program
The mission of Southeastern Pennsylvania Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (SEPA VOAD) is to prepare the region for disaster and coordinate recovery and response. VOAD coordinates planning efforts and, during a disaster, matches community needs with services provided by member VOAD agencies. Volunteers are trained to work before, during and after a large-scale disaster. Your company can receive free VOAD disaster training that will prepare your company to meet community needs in the wake of a large-scale disaster. Our Red Cross trainers can provide on-site training for groups of 15 or more at your location.
  • Sponsor "Be Red Cross Ready" Brown Bag Lunch Seminar
The America Red Cross will conduct a one-hour seminar at your company for your employees, customers or community members on "Preparedness and Safety in Your Home" led by SEPA's Chief Executive Officer and SEPA's Director of Preparedness. The seminar will teach community members how to prepare themselves and their family members for a disaster. The Red Cross will provide the brochures and materials.
  • Partners in Youth Services

Few partnership options represent a more rewarding investment in the future than Youth Services-where your Red Cross teaches the children of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. Through our Community Education Youth Programs, young people are motivated to give back to their communities by donating their time, skills, and energy to improving the lives of others and making their communities better places to live.

    Corporate Partnership Opportunities include:

Partners in Services to the Armed Forces

The Red Cross is a vital lifeline and source of support to America’s fighting men and women providing round-the-clock emergency communications, family assistance, emergency financial assistance, and counseling to all members of the Armed Forces and their families. Red Cross workers serve on the front lines in armed conflicts, ensuring the prompt delivery of emergency communications from home.

    Corporate Partnership Opportunities include:

Partners in Health and Safety Outreach

All across the Philadelphia area and beyond, countless people are alive today because of the training that someone received from the Red Cross. From First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens training to Swimming, Lifeguarding, and Babysitter’s training, Red Cross preparedness programs help people lead safer and healthier lives. But we don’t stop there. Always alert to the changing preparedness needs of our community, SEPA is constantly pioneering new programs, such as teaching people how to use automated electronic defibrillators (AED’s) to save lives in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.

    Corporate Partnership Opportunities include:

    Employee Engagement Opportunities

Few things promote loyalty and morale as effectively as commitment to a cause that employees themselves believe in. According to a recent Cone/Roper survey, nearly 90% of employees at companies that sponsor cause programs feel a "strong sense of loyalty" to their employer.

Viewed more favorably than any other major non-profit organization in the country, the American Red Cross is a name employees already know and trust.

To help you build upon that foundation of loyalty and trust, SEPA provides a wide range of programs and services to further engage employees.

    Employee Engagement Opportunities include:

Participation in special events Events like the Annual Red Cross Walk to Save Lives involve employees at every level and in many different ways. Last year, over 1,000 walkers from companies, schools, and other organizations participated in the Walk.
